For whom is PaaS a good option?

This type of cloud service is usually a good choice for companies who want to operate and monitor their own application/service but they don’t want to waste their time for designing and building the required physical infrastructure. In this case the cloud services are ensuring the platform required for the application to be running.

However, the platform itself does not take care of application being up-to-date. All maintenance required for the application (update the application itself, installing patches etc.) is under the responsibility of the application owner. Cloud is responsible only to the platform is available 24/7. In case of something happens with the application, cloud service is automatically restarting it on a different physical machine within a few minutes after the application stopped working because of some reasons.
